Saturday’s late Premier League game features Southampton and Manchester City. Both teams were struggling of late but managed to get back on track in their previous games.
Southampton took a huge step towards 8th place with a victory over WBA. Jordy Clasie found the net in the 24th minute giving the Saints a much-needed victory. Now they are sitting just 4 points behind WBA with 2 games in hand. Southampton are not among the best hosts in the league. With 22 points won at St. Mary’s from the won overall the team is not looking confident at home. The team recorded 3 losses and 2 wins in their last 6 home games which for a team with their ambition is not nearly good enough.
Manchester City finally tasted victory again after failing to deliver 4 games in a row in all competitions. They won against Hull at home but were not convincing. The team looks to be letting too many easy goals. With 35 goals conceded they are far behind Tottenham, United and Chelsea. Their away form though is something Pep will be happy about. They are the second strongest away team in the league only after leaders Chelsea. A little bit over half of their points came from away games.
