Drogba closer to Shanghai Shenhua
Shanghai Shenhua’s owner, Zhu Jun is confident his club is closer to completing Didier Drogba deal and partner him with his old friend Nicolas Anelka.

“As of now, Shenhua’s negotiations with Drogba are continuing just as planned.”, Zhu Jun told Oriental Daily

Drogba’s former team mate, Nicolas Anelka, is a player/coach at the club, something which may persuade Drogba to join. Anelka, 33, signed for the club from Chelsea during the January transfer window and replaced sacked manager Jean Tigana as caretaker manager.

Drogba has confirmed that he was leaving the club after winning the Champions League 2012.

If the deal does go through, it will be a major coup for Shenhua as they won’t be paying a penny to Chelsea for a proven and still productive goal scorer.

Drogba recently stated that the future of Chelsea’s strike force lies in Fernando Torres, who has had a relatively unimpressive time at Chelsea since signing for the club last season.
