Two traditional powers of English football will collide when Man Utd take on Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Red Devils will come into the game on the back of a nine-game winning run in all competitions. Meanwhile, the Reds are placed second in the league and still hold a five-point lead over their opponents. However, they have drawn their last two games, and they have to travel to Southampton for the EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
United have seemed to find their groove at the right moment as the competition for top four places begin to intensify in the Premier League. Despite their superb run, the Red Devils still find themselves in the sixth spot, but a win on Sunday will bring them within two points of their opponents.
The Reds drew with Sunderland in their last league fixture and followed that up with a goalless FA Cup draw against Plymouth Argyle.
Philippe Coutinho has recovered from his ankle injury and is expected to feature for the Reds. Sadio Mane and Eric Baily will not feature due to AFCON commitments.
