An all-Nerazzurri derby awaits as Inter and Atalanta lock horns in a game that could prove decisive in the battle for European football for next term.
Inter have managed to right the ship after struggling under Frank de Boer, whilst Atlanta have arguably been the surprise packages of the season. La Dea have taken down some of the league’s biggest sides, including a very impressive 2-0 victory against Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo.
The Nerazzurri have won 11 out of their last 14 games, but have lost to the top three sides – Juventus, Napoli, and Roma. The most recent of these losses was a 3-1 reversal to the Giallorossi at this same ground.
Meanwhile, Atalanta sit in fifth spot, one point and one place ahead of their upcoming hosts. Having beaten Napoli on the road, they have shown that they are ready to mix it up with the top ranked sides. They come into this game having scored in their last five away fixtures, and are expected to find the back of the net here.
Inter’s Mauro Icardi, of course, will be the go-to man for his side. The Argentinian continues to plunder goals at a rapid rate, and has racked up 17 goals including ten in his last eight at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
In fact, Inter have scored in all of their home games, and have hit nearly 30 in their past 13 on home turf.
