Two struggling sides will be desperate for a reprieve as Genoa welcome Inter on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams have been absolutely abysmal as of late. Genoa have lost six out of their last seven games. Inter are winless in their last six games, and both teams come into this game having lost their respective fixtures. The Grifone suffered another major blow as they were defeated 2-1 by Chievo at home. And the Nerazzurri saw their European ambitions take a major hit as they also lost on home turf, albeit to a Napoli side with the highest-scoring attack in the division.

Genoa have won just one out of their last 19 meetings and have plummeted down the table. With Crotone suddenly winning games, they now find themselves five points away from relegation. That’s a shocking result for a team who beat Juventus 3-1 at this same ground and were viewed as a potential dark horse contender for a Europa League berth earlier this season.

Meanwhile, Stefano Pioli, once viewed as a hero of sorts for getting Inter back on track, now finds his job on the line. The Nerazzurri have been in disappointing form lately, including a shock 2-1 loss to Crotone. They have conceded at least two goals in five out of their last six games, and are facing a side who have won their last three straight home games against them. That being said, Genoa have had their fair share of goals shipped, so this looks likely to be an interesting end-to-end tie.
